The Collective’s co-founders:

Dr. Halle Singh (she/her)

Dr. Halle Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Childhood Studies and the Area Coordinator for Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and LGBTQ+ Studies programs at Bridgewater State University. She earned her PhD in Childhood Studies with distinction from Rutgers University in May 2024. As a feminist theorist of gender, age, and capitalism, she works across social reproduction theory, critical cultural studies, and girlhood studies. Her book project, "Girlhood After Dark: Nighttime, Leisure, and the Temporality of Gender," theorizes how capitalism regulates gender through one of its central mechanisms of control: time.

E Lev Feinman (they/them)

E Lev Feinman is a PhD candidate in the Department of Childhood Studies at Rutgers University–Camden. Their research, funded by the Rutgers University Committee on Diversity, Race, and Gender, the Office of the Chancellor, and the Department of Childhood Studies, focuses on trans studies, queer theory, gender studies, and girlhood studies. Their dissertation, "The Trans (Studies') Child," explores the intellectual genealogy and institutional history of trans studies in the U.S. academy. It examines how the field developed alongside growing national attention to trans children and youth in the 1990s and early 2000s, revealing the trans child as a pivotal, yet previously underrecognized, figure in the field's formation.
